To Ensure The Success of The Car Industry In The UK The Government Must Get Involved
11/07/2013
A little bit, over two weeks ago, the fastest and fiercest race-car drivers returned to the Silverstone raceway, for what turned out to be a thrilling rendition of the British Grand Prix. While, British drivers have had some mixed fortunes when it comes to the tracks during the current season, the return of Formula One onto the shores is a great opportunity to be able to introduce as well as recognise the success that the UK car industry has had recently.
From one continent to the next, Formula One may seem as though it is a world away; however, it makes up eight of the eleven teams. In fact, most of the factories that support the event, which include Red Bull, which is a reigning champion are located within the West Midlands and Oxfordshire regions in the UK. This area is cleverly known as the Motorsport Valley.
The UKs proudness for building incredible vehicles is not only exclusive to vehicles that are used for motorsports. In fact, the car industry within Britain continues to be one of the largest exports for the country. The UK continuously receives demands from America, Asia, and many other countries around the globe. The car sector currently employs over 700,000 people across the UK. These individuals work in jobs from designing vehicles, to repairing them. The questions about the UK manufacturing industry for vehicles being in a decreased state, is definitely one thing that is worth questioning.
The chair of the All-Party Motor group, also known by its acronym name APMG states that the car party has become a rich part of the countries' heritage. They have no plans to remain complement, and are making further plans to move the industry further forward. Their goal is to protect as well as to strengthen the car sector within the area, for future generations.
The AMPG recently released an annual report for fuelling the ambitions of the UK car industry. In the report, the AMPG recognises the success that the UK car industry has had. They also outline the importance of the industry making every attempt possible to seize new opportunities that will help to promote the growth of the industry. Meetings that the organisation were involved in over the past year are also noted in the annual report.
After the meetings that the AMPG had with several business leaders and trade officials, they have decided that one thing needs to be done. That is to continue to fuel the public’s interest for UK cars. The government’s strategy for the car sector provides a strategic amount of framework, describing how the UK can strengthen the industry and pinpoints what frameworks need to be taken in order to do so.
An overseas expansion will be critical in fuelling the industry. The government will need to focus more of their attention on eliminating trade barriers that exist. Deals will also need to be secured with emerging markets, as well as economies that are beginning to see major growth.
The UK is in a position to excel the car industry. However, in order for the industry to continue to be successful, the government will need to do its part to push it forward as well.
